White Coat Ceremony to be Held Virtually for January 2022
About White Coat Ceremony
Update on St. George’s University White Coat Ceremony and Family Weekend Activities
Congratulations once again on your acceptance to St. George’s University!
Over the past few years, St. George’s University has welcomed new students along with their families and friends to campus for Family Weekend, giving attendees an insider’s view of the island, its people, and our beautiful True Blue campus in Grenada, West Indies. While we are unable to share in this experience in person in Grenada this year due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to invite you to a virtual event to celebrate the beginning of your journey towards becoming a physician.
We understand that sharing this achievement with friends and family highlights this significant moment in your life and we are committed to celebrating your achievement together.
The leadership of SGU considered all aspects of a potential return to campus in January that would have allowed students the opportunity to experience this event in-person but remains concerned about the worsening status of the COVID-19 pandemic around the world and the related increase in hospitalizations.
Out of an abundance of caution for our students, faculty, staff, the people of Grenada and the capacity of the local health care system, SGU has decided to maintain distance education for the January term.
The White Coat Ceremonies for the April 2021 term will be hosted virtually. White coats will be shipped to students with more details about the ceremony and events forthcoming.
We look forward to planning a virtual White Coat Ceremony for you, your family members, and friends to participate. Our goal is to make prudent decisions that reflect our commitment to the ongoing safety of our campus community and that of the people of Grenada. If you have any further questions, please visit our FAQs section or email [email protected].
